I launched my career as a Registered Piano Technician in 1977.
CAREER TIME LINE:
1973 begin full time in shop training program
1974 Joined The Piano Technicians Guild
1977 Passing the PTG Certification process to become a Registered Craftsmen Member of the Piano Technicians Guild
1978 Move to Coeur d’Alene , Id and establish Colwes Piano Service Northwest and begin servicing new clients.
Become tuner for North Idaho College
Servicing the Spokane Symphony Performances as well as Panhandle Arts Alliance Performances .
!979 Work with Music City Spokane ( for a brief time)
Join Citizens Council for the Arts 1979 ( Art on the Green People)
!979 Began as Head technician for Davis & Hosch Music Spokane thru 2003
!982 Become Piano Technician Spokane Falls Community College ( 1982 - 2002 )
!983 Attend Yamaha’s Piano Technical training program “ The Little Red Schoolhouse “
!984 - 1988 Staff Technician for Eastern Washington University
!984 Join the Festival @ Sandpoint team . Work with Gunther Schuller at the Schweitzer Mountain Institute as Piano Technician and Organizer / Coordinator until it’s demise
!984 - 2015 Piano Technician for the Festival @ Sandpoint series at Memorial Field
!988 Begin as a Consultant for School District # 81
Eventually becoming their head technician . Managing the tuning staff and restoring their three Concert Grand's .
Shadle Park High , Ferris High , and Lewis and Clark High
2000 Whitworth University Staff Piano Technician
restoring their two Concert Grand's as well as two other teaching instruments. Tuning and servicing their fleet .
2003 - 2005 Work with Steinway Piano Gallery
2007 Attend Fazioli Piano Factory training program in Italy
I have chaired three Piano Technician’s Guild Regional Conferences
Held office in the local Piano Technicians Group
Tuned at all regional Concert Venues
Supported KPBX Radio with complimentary tunings
Completed numerous restorations for clients in and around our area . Restringing and overhauling three 7 foot Steinways for Dave Severance Technician for Washington State University as well as a 7 foot steinway for Walla Walla College .
Tuning for Schools , Churches , Piano Teachers and private clients for over 40 years .
